Featured case summary: Ducommun

Ducommun, located in Parsons, provides manufacturing and engineering services to aerospace, defense and industrial markets. The company had PPI intern Tyler Hogenkamp look into ways to reduce/eliminate waste generation through process line improvements, including chemical milling, hot forming, vacuum press and waterjet cutting. Ducommun was also interested in ways to reduce hazardous air pollutants and volatile organic compounds in their maskant application process, as well as ways to reduce water and energy usage by improving energy efficiency.

Industrial Environment Sustainability Practices intersession course available for CEUs

CE690, a three-day course that covers real-world strategies to reduce industrial pollution is available to take for professional development hours.
