2022 Annual Update
Policy staff tracked more than 225 bills for the 2022 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly for their impact on district policies and procedures. We will also be sending required drafts for HB 563 (2021) with the update materials at the end of May.
Employee, Coaches’, and Substitute Teacher Handbook drafts with changes from the update will be sent in the coming weeks after the Annual Update policy and procedure drafts are emailed to districts.

Effective date of legislation
The Office of the Attorney General of Kentucky issued an opinion on April 20 affirming the effective date of all new laws passed during the 2022 legislative session (not covered by an “emergency” declaration) as July 14.
Criminal record reports and fingerprints
KSBA policy staff worked with the Kentucky State Police (KSP) to assist districts with required procedures for handling criminal record reports and fingerprints as KSP conducts audits. As such, KSBA will introduce a new procedure in the Annual Update next month.
