Quarterly News & Updates
from Kansas SHRM!
Greetings my Kansas SHRM friends!

It's hard to believe that summer is upon us and we are quickly approaching the half way point of 2017. It's been a busy year so far for Kansas SHRM and there is so much more to come! Tomorrow we will have our Kansas SHRM Strategic Planning Workshop in Salina. I'm very pleased to say that we have reached capacity on our attendance for this workshop and I'm excited to see what comes of it. If you didn't get signed up, but would like to be on the wait list, please email office@ksshrm.com and we will get you added to the wait list. If you signed up, but are now unable to attend, please let us know so that we can give your spot to someone else. In our next newsletter, we will highlight some of the outcomes from the workshop, so stay tuned!

Also coming up on June 19-22 is the SHRM Annual Conference in New Orleans! I'm very excited to attend the conference this year and represent Kansas SHRM. If you are attending, please email me at ssmith@isienvironmental.com. We are planning some opportunities for Kansas SHRM members to connect and would love for you to join us!

Tami Seaman, our 2017 Conference Chair, and her committee are also very busy planning our Kansas SHRM State Conference, "Play Ball with HR", which will be September 20-22, 2017, in Overland Park! We have a great lineup of speakers including Morag Barrett, best-selling author and business owner, and Dayton Moore, General Manager of the Kansas City Royals. We also have an awesome pre-conference workshop, which will allow you to earn a few extra recertification credits. Finally, we have a great networking event at Topgolf that you won't want to miss! If you haven't already, please register today! Be sure to watch you inbox for future announcements related to the conference. I hope to see you there!

In addition to all of these events, our local SHRM Chapters are doing some awesome things! If you are not currently a local Chapter member, I encourage you to check out a Chapter near you. You can check our website for a list of local Chapters and their websites: http://ksshrm.org/affiliate-chapters/. Being a local Chapter member has been extremely valuable to me professionally and personally. I hope you will consider joining one of our awesome Chapters.

Have a fantastic summer and I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
