Uttaratantra:
The Sixth Vajra Point
with Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin
Translation by Lama Yeshe Gyamtso
|
The Uttaratantra are the teachings on Buddha Nature given to Asanga by Buddha Maitreya. Asanga was in retreat for 12 years in an attempt to meet Buddha Maitreya, became discouraged, and left his retreat. Out of pure compassion, Maitreya then appeared to Asanga and gave him this teaching. This is one of the last in the series.
It is not necessary to have attended the previous sessions to attend.

Long-life Drupchod: Tsedrub Thabshey Khajor
|
The first Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche discovered this terma from Guru Rinpoche teachings. Drupchods are the practice offerings to the
buddhas and bodhisattvas
to consecrate the environment, accumulate merit, purify negativities, and benefit beings.
You may observe the puja, purchase a practice text and chant along, do your own practice, contribute toward offering lamps or food for the daily tsok feasts,
and receive daily blessings. Offerings, particularly to the sangha, are welcome and appreciated.

Day trip ideas in the Catskills: 16 fun places to visit
From newyorkupstate.com
After a morning of thumbing through old vinyl records and trying on tie-dye T-shirts
, head for a little R&R at a magical place on top of the mountain overlooking Woodstock. The mystical
Karma Triyana Dharmachakra
Tibetan Buddhist Monastery is open to public visits. A quiet place of reverence and serenity, the monastery is far away from and high above (literally) the hub-bub of the village below. You will know you are reaching the monastery when you start seeing Tibetan peace flags flapping in the trees on either side of the road. A large, golden Buddha dominates a gilded prayer room at the monastery.
