The year 2020 has been a challenging time for many people, and sometimes it has been difficult to stay encouraged. But we are fortunate that our Dharma masters have been so generous with their teachings this year, and have offered so many teaching programs online.

His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, has announced he will give precious teachings on “The Four Dharmas of Gampopa” via his YouTube channel starting Monday December 28, 2020 and continuing for seven days, finishing Sunday January 3. 

The teachings will be webcast on His Holiness Karmapa’s YouTube channel at 8:30 AM Eastern Time; 9:30 PM Taipei, and will be presented in Tibetan, Chinese, English, French and Spanish.

To accommodate those watching His Holiness’ teachings. the start time for the KTD Amitabha Pujas will change as follows:
Sunday December 27: 9 AM Eastern
Monday December 28: 10 AM
Tuesday December 29: 10 AM
Wednesday December 30: 10 AM
Thursday December 31: 10 AM

First Light Prayers for World Peace will start and conclude before His Holiness’ webcast, and will take place at 7-8 AM Eastern Time, as scheduled.

In order to end this year well and start the next one, His Holiness Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje will teach on “The Four Dharmas of Gampopa” via the internet.

These teachings were initially intended for monastics living in monasteries and nunneries in India and Nepal, but now also will be accessible to dharma students around the world.

Regarding the future: although New York State government officials have announced measures to gradually reopen some public places and businesses, out of an abundance of caution, our two upstate New York centers - the Karma Triyana Dharmachakra monastery in Woodstock, NY and the Karme Ling Retreat Center in Delhi, NY - will remain closed to visitors through February 2021.
