CONTEXT & COMMENT
Editor’s Note: In the TTALK Quote we published last Saturday, we said we would devote a good portion of this week to looking at each of the candidates now in the running to be the next Director-General of the World Trade Organization. We have since thought better of that plan. In t he blog post he published yesterday , Terry Stewart did an excellent job at reviewing last week’s Geneva presentations from all eight would-be WTO DGs.  At this juncture, the most useful thing we can do is direct readers to it.

It is not that we are against reinventing the wheel. The world would be a poorer place if Janis Joplin hadn’t done her recording of Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee” or if Leopold Stokowski had never written out his wonderful orchestration of Bach ’s Little Figure in G Minor. And so, before long, we are likely to return to various issues confronting the World Trade Organization and the men and women seeking to become the next director-general. For now, however, those interested would do well to consult the WTO website for the statements and press briefings by the candidates and Mr. Stewart’s summary of those things.
