Alzheimer's Support 

Caregivers or adult children of those with Alzheimer's or other dementia conditions are invited to attend this month's meeting, Sunday, October 14, 2-3:30pm in DAC 417.
Return Your College Care Packages

October 13-21, bring your College Care boxes to the Welcome Desk with $5 per box to help cover postage and we'll mail your love-filled gifts to our college kids! If you don't have your boxes, there are some ready for pick up in the Church Offices. We also have unaddressed boxes, if needed. If you are mailing on your own or if you have questions, contact Kim Kuhlman.
Renewal Deadline for Safe Sanctuary October 31
 
Safety of our children and youth at KUMC is a high priority. If you completed training between 2015-2017 you need to renew prior to October 31 to avoid resubmitting references. After that date you will have to complete the entire process and will not be eligible to serve until completed. If you have questions about the process, including whether or not you are eligible, contact Victoria Wilson. Get details and renew here!

Decision Making 101: Experience
Romans 8:14-18, 37-39
 
Each of us has personal experience in what God's love means to us. Our encounters with God and our personal connection to God through the power of the Holy Spirit can and should guide and direct our decisions. We can also gain experience by connecting and listening to others. Join us as we explore how to incorporate these personal and communal experiences into our decision-making processes.

UMW Weekend

October 13 and 14 KUMC celebrates the organization of United Methodist Women along with thousands of Methodist congregations around the world. UMW is the largest faith organization for women in the world with approximately 800,000 members. We raise nearly $20 million dollars each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries. Learn more here!
Rehearsals Begin for
Ceremony of Carols

Saturday, October 13, 10am-2pm, you are invited to join our first rehearsal for Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols that we will present during worship on  December 8 and 9. Childcare is provided and a catered lunch will be provided for $6. This opportunity is open to anyone and everyone. Please RSVP and let us know you are coming!
Looking to Get Connected?

Join us  October 17  at 6:30pm in DAC 410 to hear about who we are at KUMC and what it means to join with us. This is a time for people who are looking to join officially or get more information on ways to connect. An official time to join through baptism or church membership is offered. 
End of Life Planning

Pastor Jim Chandler and Hospice Social Worker, Danielle Robertson lead this three-week session discussing hospice care and how to prepare and plan for end of life needs. CEU credit will be given to any social worker, registered nurse or case manager that attends. Join us  October 17, 24 and 31,  4:30-5:30pm.  Email  VIctoria Wilson  with questions.
Volunteer or Host a Trunk!
 
October 28, students and adults are encouraged to decorate their cars and pass out candy for kids to enjoy! There is a competition for the best overall car, most creative car and most interactive car...prizes will be awarded!

Crafts, games, and food booths will be open from 4:30-6pm and trunk or treating will be 6-6:30pm (Anyone hosting a trunk needs to be set up and ready by 5:45pm). Get details and register here!
