President's Message
Happy summer to all our KWAOR members!

It’s nice to actually see faces out there in the world! I definitely sense that everyone is ready to get out and do things. It’s also nice to see that the real estate market remains busy and robust. We are looking forward to seeing all your faces at our annual President’s Fundraiser Event August 19th! It has been a long time that we’ve been able to gather and have a good time, face to face. I’m hoping all of you will consider, and attend if possible, this important event. We are raising money for our two chosen charities: Be the Change/Project Hand-up, and South County Habitat for Humanity. The event takes place at Yawgoo Bakes & Barbecues, in Exeter. There will be great food, music from DJ Rob Caramante, games, prizes and raffles! I would also like to ask our members, brokers, affiliates to consider donating an item for a basket: gift cards, or anything else worthy of a raffle. Items can be dropped off at the KWAOR office or can be picked up if need be. I thank you all in advance for your participation in this great event.

Our committees have been busy with meetings, event planning and community involvement. Community Outreach finished up work around the Wickford Mill Cove footbridge with pathway trimming and cleaning. If you haven’t checked out this path yet, I recommend you do! It’s a short hike through a wooded area with the new bridge connecting the path over a coastal inlet. We also teamed up with South County Habitat for Humanity to help construct walls for a new home to be built in Exeter. It was a hot day but we had a blast!

Have you looked into the KWAOR committees? There’re so many ways to get involved. The work is rewarding and you meet many great people. If you have any interest in joining a committee, please reach out to our staff.

Applications for our KWAOR Foundation Director have been received and are currently being reviewed. We will be announcing our new Director in the near future, along with our 2021 KWAOR Realtor of the Year.

I’ll leave you with this reminder once again, our annual President’s Fundraiser is August 19th and we would love to see as many of you there as possible! Maybe you’ll win the 50/50 raffle!

Enjoy your summer and see you soon!

Your President,
Greg Eccleston
KWAOR Members Corner
Fairhaven is a town every REALTOR® should visit. Online, that is.
In November 2020, NAR launched Fairhaven, a new fair housing simulation training for REALTORS® that uses the power of storytelling to help members identify, prevent, and address discriminatory practices in real estate. Inspired by real stories, this innovative online experience has agents work against the clock to sell homes in the fictional town of Fairhaven, while confronting discrimination in the homebuying process. Learners will also walk in the shoes of a homebuyer facing discrimination. The training provides customized feedback that learners can apply to daily business interactions. This innovative training platform is available to all 1.4 million NAR members at no additional cost.

Code Of Ethics Cycle Six ENDS 12/31/21

  • As you may recall, changes to National Association of REALTORS® Code Of Ethics (COE), voted in 2019, extended the current COE Cycle 6 to three years. That cycle began January 1, 2019 and ends December 31, 2021. If you are not sure if you've completed Code Of Ethics training for this cycle, please email Membership Director Kathleen Papp. If you have recently completed Code Of Ethics training, be sure to email your course certificate to Kathleen so that she can update your record. This is a requirement for ALL active REALTOR® members.

  • Did You Know? Completion of the C2EX provides Code Of Ethics credit. C2EX is a program of the National Association of Realtors, available FREE online. NAR has recently launched a 2021 C2EX Challenge - see details here.

SentriLock: Tip of the Month!

SentriLock Support staff are now calling One Day Codes something new: Access Codes. If you or your team are lockbox users, be aware that you can find Access Code information on the Main Menu on the SentriLock website.

Did you know? The SentriKey mobile App will save you time calling your colleagues for Access Codes. Call the KWAOR office, 401-885-9300, if you have not yet downloaded and activated your App -- it's free to KWAOR Members and has other useful features for REALTORS®.

Please be aware that SentriLock will NEVER call you regarding an unpaid bill or send it to a debt collector. Please DO NOT provide payment information to anyone who calls you directly for that information.
KWAOR Committees in Action

Our first Habitat for Humanity build for 2021 was a success! On Friday, June 25, 2021 volunteers swung hammers to build strength, stability and self-reliance in the South County community. They gave their time and energy to make window joists and construct walls, which will be placed at the home site at a later date. KWAOR is proud to support Habitat for Humanity and thanks all of the participants for their help! Hope to see you at our next build!
