Volume 363 | February 2026

President's Note

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you to the dozens of Kent Woodlands residents who attended our annual meeting last month. Here's a quick recap of the speakers. If you would like to dig deeper, follow the links below for access to their presentations:

Undergrounding Committee: Thank you to board member Joel Ritch who provided a succinct update on the process and costs involved to underground our electrical lines. This small yet powerful group of volunteers is calling for many more of you that could lend a hand. This is a large undertaking, but as we've recently seen in other parts of Marin, including Tiburon, it’s possible with your help. See article below for information about how to volunteer, and click HERE for the presentation.

Marin Water: It was great to hear from their Water Efficiency Manager, Carrie Pollard, who let us know that Marin Water offers a complimentary on-site visit to help assess water savings opportunities. She also shared lots of information about our neighborhood's water consumption and ways we can each save money and water, especially given inevitable future droughts. See Carrie's presentation HERE.

Wildfire Resilience Design Framework: Thanks to board member Ghigo DiTomasso, who invited  Studio VARA to present the many ways they are designing new homes and substantial remodels to stand up against the threat of fire. Presentation available HERE.

Marin County Sheriff's Office: Deputy Jerry Niess provided a neighborhood update and noted concerns about parking, speeding, and rising incidents of fraud. We also learned that our other regular Deputy, Doug Allen, is transitioning out of the neighborhood and will be replaced by other deputies. Note that for non-emergency issues, members should contact the Sheriff's office 415-479-2311.

Sincerely,

Jeff Leh, President

On January 14th, the Underground Wiring Committee provided an update to the KWPOA Board of Directors and the entire community. The Committee remains very active and engaged in this project and is currently working with the County, design and engineering consultants, PG& E, financial institutions and neighbors to move this important project forward in a strategic and thoughtful manner. We are also preparing materials to share with the community in the coming weeks and will host neighborhood meetings to explain in more detail how to advance the project. Eight people have already volunteered to assist with these educational meetings, but we need many more volunteers to help educate our community. If you can help, please send an email to info@kwpoa.com.

Assessment Payments Due!

Members, please remember that your annual assessment payment is due soon! The amount of $468 (no increase from last year) must be received no later than February 15th. After that, a mandatory 10% penalty will apply. Chasing late payments takes up valuable staff hours — please make your payment on time! The fastest and easiest payment method is online at kwpoa.com/assessments.

Imagine powering your shed, workshop, or ADU with clean energy—without the hassle of complicated installation or relying on the grid. 200 amp service at capacity and 400 amp unattainable? Consider a plug-in-place system to supplement.

That’s the power of a plug-in-place solar systems like those from BrightSaver.org. These systems are self-supporting and fully independent, meaning you can set them up quickly and start generating energy right away. What’s truly exciting is the freedom they provide. No more worrying about wiring, permits, or utility access.

And the best part? It’s scalable. Start with one system and expand as your needs grow. Want to move it to a new structure? No problem. This is clean energy that adapts to your life.

If you’re ready to take a step toward independence and sustainability, a plug-in-place solar system is a powerful, practical way to do it. It’s not just energy — it’s freedom.
