President's Note

Hi Neighbors,

It was wonderful to celebrate the holidays last month at our sold-out Kent Woodlands party at Guesthouse with residents spanning generations. Thank you all for coming out and sharing some neighborly cheer!

As a reminder, we will hold our Annual Membership Meeting and Election on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00pm via Zoom or in-person at our office. The board will hear public comment on any matter and take care of some general association business. Then we’ll hear from an Electrical Power Line Undergrounding Engineer, our Sheriff's Department, and Marin Water. More details are in my cover letter from last month's newsletter, which you can view on our home page at www.kwpoa.com. Please see full agenda below.

Finally, calling all Kent Woodlands families with young children! For those of you with children elementary age or younger, you may be interested in a group formed by resident Michelle Varney. Email her at mlgezo@gmail.com to be added to the email distribution list for events, including one this spring. On a related note, the group maintains a list of Kent Woodlands babysitters. If you are a sitter (or have one in your household) and would like to be added to a list shared with Kent Woodlands families, please email Michelle at the address above.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Jeff Leh, President

2025: The Year to Safeguard Your Property and Secure Insurance Discounts!

We urge you to take advantage of the “Safer from Wildfires” initiative, launched through a vital partnership between Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and the emergency response agencies under Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration.

Every proactive measure you implement under Safer from Wildfires qualifies you for significant insurance discounts. The more comprehensive your efforts, the more substantial your savings. Visit https://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/200-wrr/Safer-from-Wildfires.cfm to learn about the essential actions you need to take. Act now to protect your property and enjoy your savings! And always feel free to book an appointment with me to discuss in more detail.

Speaking of insurance discounts, I’m proud to announce that through the efforts of me and our board, Kent Woodlands recently secured a three year renewal of our Firewise USA status from the NFPA. This designation for our neighborhood could help with insurance premium savings. Please contact your insurance provider or broker for more information.

RANGE ANXIETY? WE GOT YOU!

Years ago, when Tesla first arrived on the scene, electric vehicle chargers were few and far between. Now, there are hundreds located throughout Marin including several new charging stations, making it easier than ever to charge your EV. These new stations include Level 2 chargers, perfect for daily use, and some locations feature fast chargers for those in a hurry. With the correct charging adapter, Tesla and non-Tesla charging stations are interchangeable. Find the latest stations on Electrly’s website HERE.

  • Corde Madera Town Center: Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) now offers high-speed charging with 6 DCFC and 4 Level 2 Chargers. It is located at 700 Tamalpais Drive.
  • SOMA. Electrify America opened its first flagship charging station at 928 Harrison Street earlier this year. It features 20 Hyper-fast chargers and a customer lounge area with high-speed Wi-Fi.
  • Larkspur Landing Shopping Center: Situated near the Larkspur Ferry Terminal, these chargers are an excellent option for commuters.
  • College of Marin: COM charging stations are available to the public on Sundays and school holidays.
  • Bon Air Center: Tesla has 14 available Supercharger stalls.

What’s New and Different? The new charging stations offer several benefits, including faster charging, user-friendly interface and the use of sustainable energy. The expansion of charging infrastructure is crucial for ensuring a seamless and enjoyable EV experience and convenient charging options.
