Happy March Madness and Spring KYSITE!

Just a few weeks ago it seemed like the sun would never come out - but it looks like things are starting to warm up here soon. Even with the cold weather, ITE International has been busy - electing Gordon E. Meth and Neelan Morman to 2026 International President and Vice President. Several resources were also published, including a Quick Bite on integrating E-Bikes into transportation systems. Be sure to check www.ite.org often to keep abreast of all the news, technical and community resources, and events.

Speaking of events - have you registered for the joint SDITE / MOVITE Annual Meeting in Memphis, TN? Early registration has ended, but space is still available! Join us and your fellow Kentuckians in Memphis on April 13th - 16th to connect with other ITE members from across the region. There are multiple social events and tours planned that are always a blast! Visit the event website here to learn more and book your ticket!

For more local events, we've set the date for our May meeting to once again be with Ohio ITE - May 16. More details will be shared as they are finalized!

Our Golf Outing Committee is also working hard to organize the event. They have narrowed the Outing to Late May or Early June - keep an eye out for more information and sponsorship opportunities!

See below for the updated 2025 Schedule. Take care everyone and we hope your brackets are faring better than ours!

Southern District Annual Meeting -

KYSITE Carpool

With the Southern District Annual Meeting fast approaching, the KYSITE Board knows how stressful travel can be. To help KYSITE members get to Memphis safe and sound, the Board is offering to organize carpooling between members. This is completely voluntary, and every member should make the decision that is best for them. The Board will connect KYSITE members to other interested members in similar areas of the Commonwealth, but everyone should use their own judgment on where to meet, cost sharing, and other details.

Safe travels! We can't wait to see all of you in Memphis!

KYSITE Committees

With the 2025 season of events already underway, the KYSITE Board is asking for volunteers to assist in the various Committees that make these events possible and successful. A brief description of our Committees is included below. If any member is interested in lending their talents, expertise, and time to any of the Committees, please reach out to the officers at kysite@itedsc.org.

Golf Outing Committee

The Golf Outing Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual Golf Outing which benefits KYSITE's William "Bill" Seymour Scholarship. Members of this committee identify sponsors, catering, and work with the Board to schedule and organize teams for the Golf Outing. Our committee is currently working with Weissinger Hills Golf Course to schedule the Golf Outing for late May or early June.

Community Service Committee

The new Community Service Committee is responsible for directing KYSITE's philanthropic efforts, so we can give back to the communities we serve as transportation practitioners. Committee members identify service opportunities, organize volunteers and schedule events with the Board. The Committee is moving fast - they've already identified an event and are looking forward to bringing it to the Board and the Section!

Sponsorship Committee

The 2025 Board of Officers would like to start up a Sponsorship Committee to be a liaison between KYSITE and corporate entities. Members would facilitate Sponsorship opportunities and work with the other Committees to identify, contact, and manage relationships with corporate sponsors to help fund the Scholarship, events and training opportunities across the Commonwealth.

Student Engagement Committee

Our Student Engagement Committee is a vital part of KYSITE and the community of transportation professionals. They help facilitate conversations with Kentucky students and university faculty to attract and mentor talent. The Committee has successfully restarted the UK Student Chapter of ITE and is looking for alumni to aid in similar ventures at UofL and WKU.

Silent Auction Committee

The Silent Auction is a big part of the Annual Banquet and helps fund the William "Bill" Seymour Scholarship. The Committee coordinates closely with the Board, soliciting donations to and running the Silent Auction at the Annual Banquet.
