KABBALAT SHABBAT

With a special
Geography of the Synagogue
mini-class at 6:00 p.m.

This in-person service will also have Zoom access.
Your RSVP is required for the mini-class, and is appreciated for Kabbalat Shabbat.

Rabbi Sharfman and Cantorial soloists Scott Leader and Erica Erman will once again be together on the bima.

  • You are welcome to join us for in person services. We appreciate your RSVP ahead of time. A Zoom link will be sent to members who cannot attend in person but wish to participate via Zoom. Non-members who would like to join us for services (either in-person or through Zoom), please email Renee.
  • We encourage all those attending in person to wear a mask. During services, several rows in the front of the sanctuary will be reserved for congregants and potential new members who wish to wear masks.
  • The reserved rows are for those who feel safer sitting next to other mask wearers. Otherwise, mask wearers may sit anywhere in the sanctuary.

Please RSVP for the Geography of the Synagogue mini-class
and for Kabbalat Shabbat by Thursday, September 8.

Erica and Jared Erman's videos for Shabbat candle lighting, Kiddush, and Motzi

Thank you to Erica and Jared for welcoming us in their home. Erica mentions some of the reasons we have two loaves of challah on Shabbat, to which we add that there are two commandments regarding Shabbat in the Torah: Shamor (Keep Shabbat) and Zachor (Remember Shabbat).

We hear these in L'cha Dodi, too, when we learn that these two commandments were given in one breath!
Blessing over Shabbat candles
Kiddush - Blessing Over Wine/Grape Juice
Motzi - Blessing Over Challah
