Emergency Pedagogy: Traumatology II

with Bernd Ruf

July 2-7, 2023, in Wilton, NH

(Traumatology I is not a prerequisite)

How can we use pedagogy and healing artistic therapies

to address the consequences of trauma?

The topic of trauma unifies us: our world, the eco-system, health issues, and even our social environment are filled with trauma, both individually and collectively. As parents, teachers, health care workers, and counselors, we are often called upon to support the inner development of traumatized children and adults. This work also requires us to come to terms with the traumas we have faced in our own lives. We do not have to do this alone.

In just a few weeks, Bernd Ruf, founder of the Parzival Schule in Karlsruhe, Germany, will join us in the warmth of community here in the rolling hills of Southeastern New Hampshire for a week of training in Emergency Pedagogy with a focus on Traumatology.

Emergency pedagogy is not therapy,

but rather pedagogical first aid for the soul.

The principles of Waldorf pedagogy, coupled with a deepening awareness of how trauma expresses itself in young people, will guide us through the healing process best suited to strengthening the inner resilience and sense of wholeness in the human beings we serve.

We hope you will join us!
