It has been a very busy few months at Kambaku Lodges not only out in the field but in and around the camps too.

REFURBISHMENT AT KAMBAKU RIVER SANDS

Kambaku River Sands received a complete make over with an all new paint job both inside and out. The rooms have all been individually and uniquely redecorated with real South African and African antiques, many of which have been in our families for years.

Some rooms have also had their bathrooms completely redone to fit in with the unique theme of the room itself, with large single pane glass showers and elegant free standing baths.

The Spa, Gym, Main area and Reception all received new lighting and glorious chandeliers. The gym also received new flooring as well as four new floor to ceiling windows so you never have to miss out on a thing even when working up a sweat!!

At River Sands the main area is looking as fresh as ever with a new main deck in place making this fantastic area an even better place to laze the day away awaiting some of the locals to arrive.

Kambaku Safari Lodge received an upgrade to the solar system with additional panels being added making the total array 100 panels to ensure the lights are always on.

This year the rooms at Kambaku Safari Lodge will also all be receiving lots of love with new décor upgrades throughout and new photos to follow.

Kambaku Safari Lodge is excited to introduce their Kambaku Kubs Children's Program

Children participating in the Kambaku Kubs Program will receive a safari pack containing activity books, check-lists and various surprises to keep them busy during certain times of the day. The safari pack which includes the following supplies:

Safari activity book that can go with on game drives
Spoor guide for spoor identification
Spoor casting kit
Set of colored pencils
A pencil and eraser
A puzzle for the older kids
A busy Sprogs pack for the little ones

Additionally there is a box of activities for children to choose from, such as sand art, glitter and foil art, wooden brain puzzles, etc.

The Kambaku Kubs' Ranger will to cover at least 5 activities with the children, ranging from a bush skills orientation to a master tracker course where the kids will have the opportunity to sit in the tracker's seat at the front of the vehicle. The Kambaku Kubs course also covers tree and bush identification, spoor and dung identification as well as more hands-on activities such as a guided walking safari, bug collecting, show & tell, fabricating their very own bow & arrows, and more!

Children will receive a Kambaku Kubs Junior Ranger certificate with stickers for each activity they complete, signed by their Ranger .

The Kambaku Team welcomes Tessa who will be joining the Management team at Safari Lodge. Tessa comes with 10 years' experience in the industry. Along with Cathrine and Ryno, we believe they will make a formidable team.

We are also very excited to announce that Desiree will be joining the Kambaku Team as our new Head Chef overlooking both lodges in the beginning of May. She also comes with a wealth of experience, many delicious ideas, beautiful plating, and high recommendations - so watch this space and waistline !!

We are excited to announce that we will be on the ATTA stand at World Trade Market from the 19th April, and on our own stand at We are Africa from the 1st May 2017.

Due to us attending both of these shows, and a recent visit to Durban, we will not be at Indaba this year.
