A Christmas Carol
Join us for a modern take on A Christmas Carol ! Ms. Scrooge is challenged to discover the true wonder and meaning of Christmas before it's too late. Family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

Performances are December 14th (7:00 pm) and December 15th (2:00 pm and 7:00 pm) at the LWHS Theater. Ticket costs are $10 for Students with ASB, Seniors (60+), Military, and Children under 10; $15 for General Admission. LWHS Calm Café Now Open! Lunchtime Volunteers Needed!
Exciting News! The Calm Café  pilot program began on Monday, December 10th. In order to make this quieter lunch space available for students, we need an LWSD-approved volunteer to be present in the room during both A and B lunches Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You may volunteer for one or both lunches, on a regular or occasional basis. If you volunteer for both lunches on the same day, you will have a lunch break during the time the students return to class.

Scholarship Market Workshop December 18th at 6:30 pm 
Mark your calendars for December 18th, 6:30 pm in the Theater at LWHS! The College and Career Center is pleased to host a Scholarship Market Workshop with guest speakers from the College Planning Network. This workshop is designed to help students and parents identify scholarship sources and develop scholarship application techniques. The Washington State resource, will be fully reviewed and the process of matching students with scholarship characteristics will be discussed. This presentation will be especially helpful for Senior students and parents; however all grade levels are welcome.

NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse
Juniors and seniors considering participating in intercollegiate athletics need to register online with the NCAA Clearinghouse. This registration certifies the eligibility of student athletes to participate in sports during their freshman year in college. Go to to register.
Worth a Second Look
Students will be able to view their 2nd semester schedule on January 9th. If they would like to change a semester elective, they need to download the "Schedule Change Request Form" (available on the LWHS website at 3:30 pm on January 9th). Completed forms should be turned in to the Counseling Center anytime between January 9th and January 15th. If the Counselor can make the change, your student will be able to view the new schedule online. As always, schedule change requests based on teacher choice, teacher style, or lunch assignments will not be considered.

Loyalty Club Food Drive
The LWHS Loyalty Club is holding its annual Holiday Baskets drive. This year, the drive will be a competition between pods, based on students' first period class.

Each pod will have a large donation box, as will the hallway near music/front office and the gym. Students without a first period class can place their donations in the pod of their choice. All school-collected donations will go to Hopelink .

The following donations would be appreciated:
  • Canned Meals (chili, ravioli - pop top preferred)
  • Canned Meat (tuna, chicken, salmon)
  • Cereal and Oatmeal
  • Dry Beans
  • Fruit (canned, fresh, or dried)
  • Grains (pasta, rice, quinoa, barley, etc.)
  • Healthy Pre-Packaged Snacks (not in bulk preferably)
  • Hearty Soups and Stews (pop top preferred)
  • Nut Butters (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.)
  • Vegetables (corn, carrots, and peas preferred)
  • Baby diapers/formula

Help Hungry Students with Feed Washington
Did you know that roughly 10-15% of students attending LWHS often go hungry on weekends and school breaks? Feed Washington is fundraising for Pantry Packs, which provides weekend packs of food for more than 850 Lake Washington School District students struggling with reliable access to food. Please do your part by donating to Feed Washington. Every bit helps. A $25 donation can provide a month's worth of packs for a hungry student.
