Pass The Pouch

Pass The Pouch is the annual fundraiser for LWHS PTSA, and each year we depend on this fundraiser for our entire operating budget. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and could not exist or achieve our goals without the dedication of our volunteers and your generous donations.

LWHS PTSA invests nearly $60,000 annually to fill gaps in public funding in ways that enhance the experience of our students, teachers/staff, and community:

  • Students: $35,500+ in grants for classroom projects, clubs, enrichment programs, college prep workshops, scholarships, and practice SAT/ACT tests.
  • Teachers & Staff: $18,000+ for appreciation events and grants.
  • Community: $6,000+ for programs and events that create a strong school culture.

We have currently raised $10,000, which is about 30% of our goal for the year! Thank you for your continued support and dedication to elevating the learning environment of LWHS students! We kindly ask that you click here to make your tax-deductible donation to these important causes and, if available, ask your workplace to make a matching donation. We welcome ideas or questions regarding the use of donations – please reach out to us at fundraising@lwhsptsa.org.

School

From the Desk of LWHS Principal, Dr. Christine Bell

Dear Kang Families,

As we move further into the school year, students are settling into their routines. This is an important time for them to stay focused on their classes, maintain organization, and keep up with assignments and responsibilities. I want to emphasize the importance of our Friday Homeroom period. Although it is a short class, it is a required part of the school day. Our school-wide expectation is that students remain on campus during this time and engage in learning. Consistent attendance and participation are essential in supporting student success.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many parents and guardians who give so generously of their time and resources. Whether donating, chaperoning, or volunteering in other ways, your support strengthens our school community and directly benefits our students. A special thank you as well to those who donated facial tissue—every little bit helps, and your contributions make a real difference in our daily work. We are grateful for your continued partnership.

Looking ahead, Homecoming Week will take place October 6–11. Students will enjoy spirit days, a schoolwide assembly, the Homecoming football game, and the Homecoming dance. This week is always a highlight of the fall and an opportunity for students to show their school pride. Later in the month, our Theatre Department will present the fall production, Trap, running October 24 through November 1. Tickets are available for purchase online, and we encourage families to attend and support our student performers.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and our school.

Community

LWHS Theatre Presents: TRAP

An incomprehensible event: every person in the audience of a high school play falls unconscious—every person but one. A theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style.

Rated: PG-13 for scary situations, loud noises, dark spaces. This is a horror play. Parents are encouraged to assess how children would do in the space based on the rating.

Performances in the LWHS Performing Arts Center: October 24 - November 1

Purchase tickets at https://www.lwhstheatre.com/purchase-tickets

NOTE: If you buy your tickets online, please DOWNLOAD YOUR TICKET QR CODE TO YOUR PHONE BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. The internet signal around the Performing Arts Center is unpredictable and may make it difficult for patrons to access their tickets once they arrive.
