If you have not yet made your annual donation to LWHS PTSA, please take a moment to do so now by clicking the button below, as we will soon begin accepting grant requests for the 2025-2026 school year. Every dollar positively impacts the learning environment of LWHS students in the following ways:

  • Students: $35,500+ in grants for classroom projects, clubs, enrichment programs, college prep workshops, scholarships, and practice SAT/ACT tests.
  • Teachers & Staff: $18,000+ in classroom grants and appreciation events.
  • Community: $6,000+ in family engagement events, emergency supplies, and other support programs.

We have currently raised almost $20,000, which is about 60% of our goal for the year! Remember to check with your employer to see if they offer matching donations for charitable organizations. Additionally, if you have questions or ideas related to the use of LWHS PTSA funds - please reach out to us at fundraising@lwhsptsa.org or attend our next general membership meeting scheduled for January 14th, 2026. From the Desk of LWHS Principal, Dr. Christine Bell

Dear Kang Families,

At Lake Washington High School, we are committed to fostering excellence—in teaching, learning, and the partnerships that make our community so strong. This fall, there are several ways for parents and community members to engage with and support the outstanding work happening on our campus.

First, I’m pleased to introduce Mr. Lloyd Higgins, who has joined our administrative team as Substitute Associate Principal through Winter Break. Mr. Higgins, who retired from LWHS in 2018, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of our school community. He will be supporting students with last names Rh through Z and contributing to overall campus leadership. We’re thrilled to welcome him back to the Kang family.

If you’ve ever considered substituting in our district, I encourage you to visit the Lake Washington School District website to learn more about how to become certified. We’re always grateful for dedicated individuals who want to help maintain the high level of excellence in our classrooms.  A few of our teachers have graciously offered to host parents who would like to observe a class to see what it might be like to substitute. Interested parents may reach out to be me directly to arrange a visit.

We’re also excited to host Parent and Community Learning Walks, where families can see learning in action. Our first will be on December 2, and sign-ups will be available soon!

Please join us this Tuesday, October 21 for Kang Coffee Hour (sponsored by our PTSA) at 9:00am in the College and Career Center. Our focus this time will be on school safety. All are welcome to connect, ask questions, and share in our collective commitment to student success.

Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to excellence at Lake Washington High School, it truly makes a difference.

Go Kangs!

Dr. Christine Bell

Principal, Lake Washington High School

Opening THIS Week! LWHS Theatre's TRAP

An incomprehensible event: every person in the audience of a high school play falls unconscious—every person but one. A theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style.

Rated: PG-13 for scary situations, loud noises, dark spaces. This is a horror play. Parents are encouraged to assess how children would do in the space based on the rating.

Performances in the LWHS Performing Arts Center: October 24 - November 1

Purchase tickets at https://www.lwhstheatre.com/purchase-tickets

NOTE: If you buy your tickets online, please DOWNLOAD YOUR TICKET QR CODE TO YOUR PHONE BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. The internet signal around the Performing Arts Center is unpredictable and may make it difficult for patrons to access their tickets once they arrive.
