In Honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, CRA Partners Offers Access to Cyber-Savvy Senior Resources
Every year on June 15, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is commemorated in America and worldwide, with the purpose of raising awareness about the millions of older adults who experience elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. As many as 1 in 10 older Americans are abused or neglected each year, only 1 in 14 cases of elder abuse ever come to authorities’ attention. Older Americans are vital, contributing members of our society, and their abuse or neglect diminishes all of us. WEAAD reminds us that, as in a just society, we all have a critical role to play to focus attention on elder justice.

Register for KHAF Now: The Mortgage Relief Banks and Homeowners Have Been Waiting For
The Kansas Homeowner Assistance Fund (KHAF) is more than just good news for low- and moderate-income Kansas homeowners; it’s great news for Kansas banks too because assistance is paid directly to the delinquent account, not the homeowner. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act for pandemic relief, Kansas has $56.6 million allocated for mortgage assistance and related home expenses. This will help many vulnerable Kansans get caught up and avoid foreclosure. In order for mortgage assistance to be paid, the homeowner must apply and the lender must be registered in the KHAF program. For banks with multiple locations, you only need to have one account.
You can get an overview in this 3-minute video here.
If you’re ready to start the registration process, visit the lender KHAF page and scroll to the Registration section for details.
