ST PAT'S IN THE SWEET 16!
Hold onto your kilts lads and lassies -the Westport St Patrick's Day Run is fast approaching! Kick off your St. Patrick's Day celebration with a 4 Mile shindy through the streets of Westport. And we have some great news for those of you who would like to revel in the euphoria all year long -the Westport St Patrick's Day Run has partnered with the CCVI Trolley Run, Four on the 4th, and the Kansas City Zoo Run to form a brand new race series in Kansas City called the KC Sweet 16!

The KC Sweet 16 features four of the biggest and best 4 mile run/walks in the Midwest! Participants will contribute to four great charitable organizations, rack up on some great gear (like the pictured finisher medals for St Pat's), save money on the entry fee for each event, and collect a Series finisher's prize. Commit to living healthy throughout the whole year by signing up for the Series!

SOMETHING'S BREWING
The malt is mashing, the wort is boiling, and the hops are being collected. The only question remaining is "What are you doing to prepare for Brew to Brew 2015?". Kansas City's favorite relay is just over two months away! Don't delay in getting your team together for an event that unites runners and non-runners. This race consists of ten legs of varying distances that take you from Boulevard Brewery in
KC to Free State Brewery in Lawrence! The undaunted will take on this 44 mile challenge single-handed. The social will gather a group of up to ten friends. Any number of teammates is allowable though.

Not up for 44 miles? Do the Six Leg Special! Our six leg special consists of only six legs of the Brew to Brew course, ending in Linwood. Parties await at both finish lines!

Shoe/Clothing Drive

KCTC supports several youth running programs around Kansas City. One of the ways we support these programs is by providing these young athletes with shoes and clothing to run in. If you would like to donate any youth sized shoes or clothing, stop by the KCTC clubhouse at 208 W 79th St, KC, MO. We are here from 9 to 3 each day and there's a drop box to leave it in when we're gone!
Beginning Runners

Just getting into the running scene? We know how difficult it can be just to get out the door. Which is why we created our Beginning Runner's Class! We meet every Monday at 5:45 PM at Garry Gribble's Running Sports in the Ward Parkway Center, regardless of weather. Lou Joline has led this class for the last 11 years. The class is free to all KCTC members. Membership is only $20 a year and includes a variety of benefits which you can see here

New runners are also welcome at any of our weekly group runs including our Saturday morning run at 7 AM on the corner of 55th/Brookside and in Lee's Summit where we have established groups.
Running on Solid Ground

KCTC's Running On Solid Ground series continues on Tuesday, February 10 as we hear from Bob Schluben! Bob ran 57 marathons in 2013 and will be sharing his experiences, as well as providing us with some helpful tips for training for long distances. We meet at the Kansas City PLaza Library in the large conference room at 6:30 pm. We'll be raffling off gift certificates and others prizes to those who attend!
