As you know, the state of Kansas had a cybersecurity incident on October 12th, 2023. From that date, there was no access to court records for any counties except Johnson until the Public Access Service Center was opened on November 7th. (Johnson County is on a separate system.) Since that day, we have had access to county-level searches in all of Kansas.
*Important: Though searches can be done, they may only be as current as October 11th, 2023 for some counties. (The day before the incident.) Records may be out-of-date.
Clerks in District Courts across Kansas are working hard to enter records into their systems from the date of the incident to current. All counties are in a different place in this process.
As of today, 43 counties are current and up to date (new counties bold)
ATCHISON, BOURBON, BROWN, CHAUTAUQUA, CHEYENNE, CLARK, CLAY, COMANCHE, DECATUR, DICKINSON, DOUGLAS, EDWARDS, ELK, GOVE, GRAHAM, GREELEY, HAMILTON, HASKELL, HODGEMAN, JEWELL, JOHNSON, LANE, LINCOLN, LOGAN, MARION, MIAMI, MITCHELL, MORRIS, NEMAHA, NORTON, OSBORNE, PHILLIPS, PRATT, RAWLINS, ROOKS, RUSH, SMITH, STANTON, STEVENS, TREGO, WALLACE, WICHITA, WOODSON
The state has created a Status of District Court Restoration page on its site. Although some counties from above are not listed yet, clerks have confirmed that their data for name searches is up to date. However, clerks may still be uploading case events and documents.
