The Kansas SBDC Capital Access Center

Current Kansas SBDC clients have access to many resources, including the Capital Access Center (CAC). Clients are guided and advised by banking and loan experts who have had experience in multiple levels of banking and know how to find the best solution for clients' small business needs.  The CAC works with many types of loan and financing partners such as conventional loans, SBA lending programs, non-bank financing, as well as working with local financing partners. The CAC provides many services, including: Loan Screen Eligibility: Using the "6 C's" considered by most lenders, loan experts at the CAC will evaluate the eligibility of a loan. Test Review & Lending Options: The CAC will work with clients to run mock underwriting scenarios to find the best options available. Guidance Through the Loan Process: CAC experts provide ongoing assistance to help clients get the targeted loan, as well as saving time and frustration along the way. Training & Education: The CAC will help clients prepare to meet with lenders and provide the necessary training to help identify and target loans that are available. Encountering Innovation 2022 is a wrap!

Encountering Innovation 2022 has officially concluded, and what a week it was! We saw innovators from all over the Midwest gather together virtually to present and showcase their innovation and manufacturing capabilities to various government agencies and federal agency prime contractors as well as bring innovators and technology companies together to meet and exchange ideas. We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended: small business innovators, DoD Tech Scouts, Federal Agencies, Large Prime Contractors, small business contractors, and other attendees who were all able to collaborate to grow their future. Kansas SBDC Client Shout Out

RSVP Med Spa was built upon the concept of providing superior aesthetic and laser services for men and women. Dr. Selena Fu, MD, practiced for years in Ohio and California before relocating to the Kansas area in 2015. Her goal is to provide excellent personalized patient care in all areas of eye care.  RSVP Med Spa approached Kansas SBDC to help with their financial projections and funding for their business. Receiving funding was crucial for her business, the client’s goal of securing funding for her business, led her to approach KSBDC as it is the right place to receive professional guidance. Vince Haworth, the director of Capital Access Center (CAC) which is a part of the Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) helped her achieve her goal with his tremendous guidance and support.  “He guided me every step of the way,” said Dr. Fu, “And he cared about my personal growth just as much as he cared about my business. He reached out to a lot of different lenders on my behalf and offered me great advice. He was also very personable, and every few days they made sure to check in on me.”   The Client was successful in securing adequate funding for her business. With her background in medicine, Selena, an Oculoplastic Surgeon makes sure to be on site every day to provide direct physician supervision since she noticed that a lot of other businesses lacked in the same area and are usually run by investors. Dr. Fu noted that the work that goes into a business is far from easy, but well worth it, and she advises others to, “Always make sure to verify your steps.” The Capital Access Center is available to all current Kansas SBDC Clients.
