Happy New Year!  Please join us for our Government Contractor Breakfast in Tysons, Virginia, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.  

We're still firming up plans for our next dinner meeting on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in Largo, Maryland, but please save the date!

If you have ideas for future events, speakers, topics, and / or locations, including an opportunity to make a presentation at your place of business or with another professional organization, please email me at  president@imanationscapital.org. Together we can do more!

Global consulting firm Protiviti and North Carolina State University Poole College of Management asked 735 board members and executives to rate the likely impact that various risk issues will have on their organizations in 2017 (using a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 represents an “extensive impact”).   See the report for an executive summary and the key findings.
Call for IMA Global Award Nominations

IMA is seeking nominations for the IMA Global Awards to recognize proud, accomplished, selfless, fulfilled, experienced, distinguished, and prestigious individuals. Volunteers are highly valued for their contributions to IMA and the management accounting profession.

Consider nominating an outstanding colleague for one of IMA’s prestigious awards:
  • IMA Exemplary Leadership Award
  • IMA Exemplary Volunteer Award
  • IMA Exemplary Board Member Award
  • IMA Distinguished Member Award
  • IMA Distinguished Advocate Award (open to nonmembers)

The deadline for nominations is Friday,  February 17, 2017, Please submit your nominations online. In order for your nomination to be accepted, please follow the directions carefully and provide supporting documents.

Award recipients will be recognized at IMA’s Annual Conference & Expo in Denver, Colorado, during the Annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Award winners will receive complimentary admission to the Annual Awards Dinner and a one-night stay at the hotel. 

SCMS Board of Governors and SCMS members, the SCMS Board of Governors will hold its next meeting on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in San Diego, CA.  Plan now to join us there!
