President's Message
A big thank you for all who participated in our Wednesday evening, October 14 webinar, What Did You Say? The Art of Effective Communication, presented by Tom Dean. Nineteen attendees networked prior to the start of the event and many new connections were made!

We hope you are enjoying the IMA no cost and low cost CPE programs as a benefit of your IMA membership. As an influencer in your career, helping others is a key process. Encourage current students, including graduate students, to consider attending our November 13, 2020 IMA Student Leadership Conference: Virtual 2020. For non-student members, the cost is $20 and includes a one-year IMA Student Membership! There is no cost for current student members!

For all members, we are building our schedule of Fall 2020 online chapter activities. Visit our web site for updates! As an IMA member, encourage others to join IMA to access our no-cost CPE events: https://www.imanet.org/membership?ssopc=1

We miss seeing each of you, but know you are safe at home! Wear a mask! Encourage others to social distance and work for our better tomorrows!

Strategic Finance recently featured an article on strategic life-cycle analysis. Managing and forecasting change is the best first step, rather than a total reactive strategy, and accounting is a key member of the management team!

We thank each of you for your support of our chapter! Please share your thoughts with us on the web site in the Discussions section and by emailing me, your Chapter President.
Be well! Be safe! Be IMA focused!

Best wishes as the seasons change and 2020 continues.

Ethical Communications Part 2

Plain English Writing
Our next webinar will be November 4, 2020 and Leigha Kiger, Technical Editor and Expert in Digital Communications will discuss the merits of Plain English Writing in the digital age.

Plain English writing is clear and concise, without being overly simplistic. It is the cornerstone of powerful communications and is therefore an important tool across professions and audiences.

During the session, Leigha will discuss ways to incorporate Plain English into a variety of communications, which will make your writing clearer and save you time.

Leigha will also touch on effective communication strategies for remote work, as many of us continue to adapt our day-to-day responsibilities to a virtual environment.

This session is designed for those seeking to improve the efficiency of their internal and external communications.

Save the date and stay tuned for the registration announcement.
