On July 26, we got together and celebrated summer with people from all areas of Kardel; Group Homes, ISN, Futures, Home Share and Admin. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a slight breeze to cool us off.  

 

Mark manned the grill and made sure the lineup of hungry people moved through efficiently.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Peter Bourne provided the entertainment with his guitar, songs and humour. 

 

 

  

On July 18th Ken turned 73 years young. Ken went to day program and in the evening he went to pick up a special Chinese food dinner from Sam Pan Express. He was happy and excited as he loved his meal and had a Mocha Chocolate Birthday Cake. Ken received some new high top Vans and some awesome picture books. He enjoyed opening his gifts and having all the special attention.

          Shirley went to Chemainus for an overnight mini-vacation. She toured the shops, had a salmon dinner, and attended FootLoose the musical. Shirley expressed her delight with lots of giggles and smiles. She took the Mill Bay ferry over and back and seemed to enjoy the boat ride. All in all Shirley's holiday was a big success and we will plan a repeat holiday for Shirley in the future.
