Happy Leap Year!

We had a great lesson last week on Leap Year. Please take advantage of holidays and cultural happenings in your teaching. This month I would like to focus on attendance. Here is a question that is often posed: How do we keep our students coming every week?
This is a picture of our students at Southland Baptist Church, San Angelo, with perfect attendance certificates. We initiated a policy for attendance a couple of years ago. At the end of each month we recognize those with perfect attendance. We give out perfect attendance certificates each semester with special candy. At the end of the year, those who have perfect attendance for both semesters get a certificate and a gift. The students can have one excused absence each semester. This has boosted our attendance dramatically. Let me know if you have any other suggestions regarding boosting attendance.

Please contact us if you know of any churches that would like to host a TEX ESL Basic Teacher Training or our TEX Extended workshops (Pronunciation, Higher Level or Cross Cultural Witnessing).

Your support for Literacy Connexus is crucial for us. Please spread the news of our Teaching English with Excellence workshops. Follow our website and participate in any way you can.
Remember, April 1st is Census Day .

If you haven't already, we encourage you to print and display one of the Census posters inside your classroom.

You can find the Texas-specific ones targeted for families and children on the "Texans Care for Children" website. Here is the link:

We look forward to your continued support of Literacy ConneXus and our TEX trainings.

Watch for Literacy ConneXus emails about our upcoming events.

Expect great things from God, Attempt great things for God! Blessings always.
