ESL ministry in context of Coronavirus
Who would have ever thought that we would be living like we have the past months?

Is my picture the new norm???

What does this mean for our ESL workshops and classes in the near future?

Are these your questions?

I believe this is a time to seize the moment and address the need of using technology in our teaching. Our mission is to meet the needs of our non-English speaking students so they will acquire language skills. We must meet this need in creative ways.

Literacy Connexus is getting together resources for you to meet this objective in mind - Become the thought leader for churches doing ESL ministry in context of corona virus. Let’s think about that for a moment.

There are a lot of resources for training teachers available, and instruction for teaching remotely.

Here are a few:
  1. YouTube
  2. Google Classroom
  3. Quizlet
  4. Kahoot!
  5. Zoom

This is a great time to research these resources online. Please let us know if you need any assistance in putting these resources to use. I am taking many free courses and seminars on these subjects. SEIZE the moment when all these are available to you without cost.
With many nonprofits seeing an increase in demand for critical services and cancellations of in-person fundraising opportunities, all charitable organizations, including North Texas nonprofit organizations, are reeling from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"North Texas Giving Tuesday Now" is an initiative sponsored by the creators of "North Texas Giving Day." This emergency campaign will give our community the chance to help us empower adult learners and those who teach them. People can work and families can thrive when YOU provide critical funds that will strengthen learners in these difficult times.

How you can help:
• GIVE!
Visit  this link  and make a gift. You can even make a gift early or give on May 5, 2020.
• SPREAD THE WORD!
Share our page via email, social media and text.

We are only strong because of our community of supporters, volunteers and advocates.
We are praying for all of you and your ministries. May the Lord encourage, strengthen, comfort, and help us through whatever difficulties we might be facing

In Hebrews it says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Jesus, has entered on our behalf.” In times of uncertainty, we can be sure we have a high priest who is with us.

Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.
