Has COVID-19 made your World Upside Down?
Hang on! I know you are survivors. We can reach our ESL students this fall.  Literacy Connexus is here to help you and your ministries. I sent out a registration form with a stamped envelope to our students giving options during this fall semester. They can choose class on zoom with their teacher, receiving lesson materials by email or by mail, or request websites to learn English in the interim. Please share your experiences with us.  Literacy Connexus has created a blog with great resources to support you in your efforts. If you have not subscribed, please do it today.
Tips! In our TEX ESL training manual we have a resource called Teaching Tips for the ESL class.  We will be adding new material to our blog monthly. Here is a sample below:
Be like a laser beam rather than a strobe light.
If you are teaching in a classroom or online it is important to avoid teaching too much in a single lesson. Teach a little and PRACTICE a lot! Look for more tips to come.
Opportunity! I would recommend that you attend A Collaboration of Symposiums on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th.

Literacy ConneXus is partnering with Literacy Texas to host a literacy symposium focused on helping church-based ESL programs on Saturday, October 24th.
Our Saturday program will be aligned with a symposium sponsored by the Tarrant Literacy Coalition and Literacy Texas on Friday, October 23rd.
You can opt for either or both. You can pick and choose among the webinars offered by both. Registration is free to you through a grant by the Texas Workforce Commission’s Volunteer Training Initiative.
Save the date(s): Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th.
Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.
