Greetings!
I have been to a few events this year, and I have to say: CompTIA's CCF - Communities and Councils Forum - was the most normal event in two years!
Other than wearing a mask on the airplane, everything about the event was pretty normal. The rooms were as full as we could ask for. People were almost universally glad to be "back at it." And there we plenty of outings for dinner. Of course the content was great as well.
(Note: If you're on this list, you received a note from me about the IOTSSA event. That was a paid announcement. This one is not paid.)
If you have or know of any in-person events I should add to me calendar, please let me know.

*I* have some travel scheduled!
As I blogged last week, I am headed back to Chicago in August for CompTIA's Channelcon.
And then I'm headed to Scotland and England for some get-togethers. I have to work out the details with everyone, but I'm hoping to have beerfests (or dinner-and-drinks events) in Edinburgh, Glasgos, and Manchester.
Ideally, we'll be talking about community generally, with an emphasis on CompTIA, The Tech Tribe, and the Small Biz Thoughts Technology Community. We'll see how things shape up. You can count on the dates - and the fact that we'll do something. Stay tuned for details.
BTW - that photo is a picture of the Falkirk Wheel, which I'm planning to visit as I head from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Details on my blog.
I've listed the events down below as "Not a Roadshow."
ALSO headed back to Australia in October. Would love to see you there - no matter where you live.

Quick note on the class that starts this week: My brother Manuel and I take turns teaching, and even co-teach a few classes. This course is all about Checklists. And if you haven't seem my employee onboarding process, I promise that week two is worth three times the cost of the entire cost.
Please do yourself a favor and check it out. I think we have 30-some people enrolled. Join us.
Have a great week.

Apparently, the weekly meetings are great without me!
|
We meeting on Zoom every Thursday at 9:00 AM Pacific. The link is always at the top of your dashboard.
I was in Chicago and headed home last Thursday, but we had a GREAT meeting without me. It's recorded, so any SBT Community members can access and download.
We started the weekly Zoom meetings two years as the pandemic was shutting down the world. Our plan was to check in with members and just see how we could help each other. But these meetings have become a major benefit of membership.
If you're new to the community - or just haven't joined us in a while, please join us Thursday.

This should be a great conversation.

I firmly believe we're at a turning point
Not sure what will happen with rides. Cabs have become cleaner and more honest as a result of Lyft and Uber. But Lyft and Uber are far less regulated.
I've noticed several times that Lyft and Uber are MUCH more than cabs during rush hour, big sporting events, etc. In the example above, the cab cost $45 plus tip (which, in this case, was $60 total).
