Karla Lind Has Passed Away

Karla Lind, mother of one of our long time supporters, Martin Lind, passed away on August 6th.

This morning, I opened Facebook and email  just as I do every morning. My heart was heavy because I was thinking about Karla and this announcement.  And there, the first entry on Facebook today was this post from Viki - a loving tribute from a daughter-in-law for her cherished loved one:

"Now to let you know that as my heart is full of overwhelming joy for my new grand children, it is broken because Martin's Mom, Karla Lind, passed away, August 6 at 11 p.m.   Do I know where she is?  Yes, I do.   I know she was happy about where she was going, but I will miss her.

She was my friend and my confidant.  If for instance I was upset with Martin, I could call Karla, and she would say,  "Oh Viki.  Martin is Martin, lets pray."  Ha Ha.  I used to say well Karla, it isn't working.   Should we maybe try something else?  And we would laugh.

Our phone conversations would last for hours, and I can remember thinking what would I do without her.  Well sadly, I am going to find out.

She taught me to forgive, she taught me to love, she taught me to turn the other cheek.  And she taught me through God you can do anything, but you are going to have to let him in and keep him close to your heart.

Oh how right you were Karla. The night she died, Martin came in about 10:45 from walking our dogs and said,  "Mom is going to die tonight."  I said why.  He said, "because there is a cloud the shape of a heart over her house."  Fifteen minutes later Paula called.  She was gone.

So the angels came to get her, and now God is the lucky one.  I love you forever. Thank you for loving me. . . "

Regards,
