                               Transforming office spaces

The average American spends 1,700 hours at work per year.  With numbers this high it is important that the office space be a place that fosters productivity from its employees and comfort for visiting clients.  People are most productive when the space they occupy is a balance between comfort and function.  For those of us that work out of the home the same principle applies.  If we are spending these kinds of hours working, why not be comfortable and productive.  Contact Kat Nelson Designs for your work environment projects.

Sincerely,

Kat Nelson and team.

 Need to Know

Some tips to planning and organizing your remodel.

-Do a little soul searching and research before contacting a contractor and designer.

-Look through magazines, on-line websites such as Pinterest and Houzz for ideas that you like.  This will give your designer a general feel for the direction   you want to go in.

-3 ring binders are best with individual page protectors for keeping the pictures you want to show to your designer.

-Define what is the goal of the remodel.  Is it for resale?  increased functionality of your home,
Assess your wants and your needs.

-Define a clear cut budget for the project.  This is a very important task as it allows the designer to put together the materials you need with a price point in mind.

-Set a time allotment that you would want the work to accomplished in.  Be sure to consider that materials will need to be ordered and sometimes that can mean weeks and sometimes months.

Our Newest Commercial Design Project

We had so much fun working on this commercial design project for United Capital!  Our vision for this 4,400 square foot commercial project was to create a working environment that was current, modern and comfortable all at the same time.  We achieved this by using warm organic materials like reclaimed barn wood in the lobby and the large conference room.  We updated the furniture, lighting, artwork, carpet.  We customized the receptionist desk and lobby floors using their company logos.  Each of the 5 executive offices and 5 administrative offices were equipped with a wall that was painted with a unique paint that can be used with dry erase markers.  The end result was a highly functional, warm and comfortable space for the employees and clients of United Capital.

Mission Accomplished!
