Meet Katerynne Patino.

Born in Medellin, Colombia, Katerynne and her family moved to Lowell when she was just 15 years old. Soon after, she enrolled at Lowell High School and graduated with the Class of 2002.

Learning English from just "Hi" and "Bye," Katerynne overcame language barriers and cultural challenges by advocating for herself, a lesson that shaped her future.

After a successful career in banking, Katerynne found her true calling in education and community advocacy. Today, as Director of Operations at Project LEARN, she works to open doors for families and students across Lowell, helping them find their voices just as she once found hers.

Katerynne's journey reminds us that everyone's path is different, but every step, no matter how small, leads toward success

Lowell High School and the greater LPS community recently celebrated the retirement of longtime School Resource Officer Jose Santiago, honoring his 30 years of dedicated service with the Lowell Police Department.

Many alumni will remember Officer Santiago as a steady, supportive presence in the halls, someone who went far beyond his badge. From mentoring students and supporting school events to leading programs like the Student Police Academy and youth sports initiatives, he built lasting relationships with generations of LHS students.

On his final day, January 22, he was recognized as a Local Community Champion at the Golden Gloves, a fitting tribute to his impact inside and outside of school.

The entire Lowell Public Schools community thanks Officer Santiago for his commitment, mentorship, and years of service to Lowell’s students.

From mentors, advisors, guest speakers, tutors and more, Lowell High Alumni are valuable resources for current students. The Lowell High Alumni Association is a collaboration between Project LEARN and the Lowell Public School district. The mission of the Alumni Association is to help alumni connect with each other, to engage with the school, community and to inspire future generations of Lowell High students through mentoring, advising and tutoring. We invite alumni to connect and find ways to work on new and existing programs within the schools to better the academics and the lives of all Lowell Public School students.
