Kauai's Cultural Champions

Jason Blake

Jason moved to Kauai from Chicago with his husband Philip Steinbacher just over 20 years ago. Jason is originally from Conyers, Georgia. Philip and Jason met while singing in Chicago Gay Men's Chorus.

Jason was a performer from a very young age but ended up more on the production and promotion side of theater by his middle age.

Jason founded Kauai Sings which raised several hundred thousand dollars for Malama Pono Health Services and other non-profits. Over a decade ago, he was recruited onto the BOD of Kauai Concert Association and now serves as its president.

Jason produced a semi-prof run of the Miss Saigon at the PAC in 2014. He's also performed in many Kauai Community Players productions thru the years including Art and Sweeney Todd.

As prez of Kauai Concert Asso, he was happy to preside over KCA's most successful season ever-- the 50th anniversary that was in 2024-2025. Notable performances included a Kauai Concert Sinfonia presentation of The Planets by Gustav Holst, a concert featuring Opus Nova performing Rhapsody in Blue and Anat Cohen. The BOD of KCA is completely volunteer but just this year they were able to officially hire Artistic Director Monica Chung.

KCA's 51st season kicks off on Sept 6 at the PAC with a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 1 "Titan" conducted by Maestro Tito Munos. Jason's wish is that the 51st season will be even more successful than the 50th!

The PAC will continue to book additional events between now and the end of the year, so keep checking our schedule on Facebook and the Official PAC Calendar

Plus Movies not listed but will plugged in as we go along. Remember, our PAC Movie Series is FREE, films from around the world.
