Member Announcements & Events
We are deeply grieved by the passing of our dear friend and long time chamber member, Bob Tate. Our condolences go to his family and UPS Store team.
Bob Tate, the owner and operator of The UPS Store at 105 S. Jefferson St., moved to Kearney in 1990 after he retired from the Marines.

During his time in the Marines, Bob logged 5,000 hours in fighter jets like the A-6, but fortunately never had to serve in a conflict. He spent tours in Japan and Norway.

After flying jets for 10 years in the Marines, he retired and flew for Pan Am for two years as a commercial airline pilot.

In 2014, Bob celebrated the 10th anniversary of the store, which he opened with his wife, Sharon, in February 2004. She passed away in 2012. The UPS Store expanded to nearly twice the size in 2015. In 2016, Bob was named the company’s Humanitarian of the Year at The UPS Store conference in Nashville.

Those in Kearney who know Bob knows he enjoyed helping others. Whether as part of the Kearney School District Education Foundation, Kearney Food Pantry, Parents as Teachers or Toys for Tots, Bob was well known for his generosity.

Please help us spread the word...
Kearney Clean Up Competition
KSD 6th and 7th grade students are working on a project called "Make Kearney a Better Place". A couple of the 7th grade students, Patrick and Carter, would like to focus their project on an idea for cleaning up trash around Kearney.

They have created a flyer to explain the details. They are proposing a Kearney Clean Up Competition and are asking businesses to get involved by donating items or gift cards for the prizes.

To Donate please contact Teacher, Jennifer Chrane at chranej@ksdr1.net.
Business of the Month
Cash Mob Wednesday
Let's have a little fun and celebrate our Business of the Month - Paisley Candle and Home - with a Cash Mob on Wednesday, April 28.
What’s a cash mob? It’s a way to bless a local business with an infusion of cash and customers by concentrating purchases on one day. We ask that you commit to supporting this business by spending a minimum of $15. Enjoy supporting local, and have fun learning about and getting to know our local businesses and all they have to offer!
Oh, we almost forgot, tell them you're "with the mob" at checkout and you'll be entered to win $20 Chamber Cash!
We are celebrating
Paisley Candle and Home
as our Business of the Month!

Since their Grand Opening in August 2019 Paisley Candle and Home has quickly become a Kearney favorite! Offering a variety of home décor, hand poured candles (thanks to Terry), boutique items, gourmet foods, and even products to show your love of your pets.
This innovative business kept us all in the shopping habit during the shut-down by offering personal shopping experiences, Paisley Pack deliveries, and porch pick-ups.
You can count on the Paisley staff, Melissa and Greg, to help you pick out that perfect gift or accent piece. They are constantly updating and adding items to the store’s unique and stylish inventory with each new season. As if it couldn’t get any better, they added Paisley Perk to the lineup last spring (shout out to Barista, Natalia).
And now, owner Brian Hamm is about to realize the fruits of his labor after planting 2000 tulip bulbs last October.
Drop by to congratulate and support our business of the month and help them kick off Tulip Time this weekend!
