Nonprofit Showcase
Making An Impact!

Because of COVID our member Nonprofits have not been able to host their usual fundraisers and donation drives. They are sorely lacking in meeting their budgets and in gathering resources to help local families during the holidays.

In an attempt to help, the Kearney Chamber will host its first virtual Nonprofit Showcase, presented by D'Creamery, November 1 through December 1 at

This virtual showcase has been designed to highlight the extraordinary work of our member not-for-profits, and to provide an opportunity for all community members to learn more about the needs within these area organizations and to easily connect with them.

To garner community interest, visitors to the showcase will have the opportunity to register to win $100 Chamber Cash and will be asked to vote for their favorite participating charity, the winner of which will be awarded a $500 grant.

The event kicks-off on November 1st and will conclude on December 1st, the National Day of Giving, otherwise known as Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. We hope the community will give generously.

Become a Real World Learning Business Partner with KSD.
Opportunity #1:
The Kearney School District school board recently approved Transeo for the district. This software will allow for business partners to register to be a part of our district's Real World Learning initiative. Partners can choose to be as heavily involved as hosting an intern or just moderately involved as a mock interview volunteer or virtual guest speaker.
Using this tool as the district's Career Readiness Coordinator, I will have the ability to manage our database of business partners and advisors, leveraging them into the student experience. This will allow all stakeholders to work toward our school board goal of providing all levels of work-based learning to every student, while ensuring students are safe and seamlessly track their engagement.
For those who would like to be involved, use the links below to register.
Opportunity #2:
The Real World Learning team at the Kauffman Foundation will be hosting a series of webinars that provide practical information on how your business can offer ‘Real World’ virtual experiences for high school students this school year.
We hope that you will register and share with colleagues who would also benefit from learning more about the RWL initiative.

Tuesday, November 17 at 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. - Register

Each session will include a brief introduction to the initiative, presentation from school districts and businesses who are already doing this work, and details on how to get started.
In an era that has brought many challenges for both businesses and educators, we hope you’ll consider offering students the opportunity to discover their passion with your business!

The Excelsior Chamber is partnering with Missouri Enterprises to provide a week of manufacturing workforce training with a guaranteed interview at the end of the week-long program for those who complete the week and earn their certificate. This program is FREE for anyone attending, minimum age is 18. Lunch is provided each day. The program will take place at the Excelsior Springs community center and class size will be limited to 20. This is a huge opportunity for someone looking to upgrade from a minimum wage based job to a manufacturing career. HR reps from Treehouse Pasta, Magna, Fiskars, and others will be on site Friday at the end of the program to conduct interviews. Our goal is to have job offers extended that afternoon to some (if not all) of the participants.

We are happy to extend this invitation to the Kearney community and those you know needing employment or a career change, or someone that just graduated high-school and is not interested in a 4-year degree. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for someone.

Class week is November 9-13. It is free to attend and lunch is provided each day. Interviews are guaranteed to those who complete the week. Register by calling the Chamber office: 816.630.6161 or email:

We encourage all of our members and all Missourians to continue to educate themselves about the candidates and ballot measures ahead of this November’s election.

On November 3, Missouri voters will also have the final say in how state legislative districts will be drawn. Read More about Amendment 3.
