This month Natalie Brubaker, Canopy’s long-time Education Director, is transitioning to a new role as Director of Special Projects. In this capacity, she will focus on Canopy projects such as interactive tree walk guide development; Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) initiatives; and strategic planning. In the 5 years that she has led Canopy’s Education programs, Natalie has expanded the Teen Urban Forester program, launched Canopy’s Community Forestry School, and started our successful More Trees Please webinar series.

Vanessa Wyns, who joined Canopy in the fall of 2019, is promoted to Education Director and will oversee all youth and adult education programs. Previously as Environmental Education Manager, Vanessa expanded Canopy’s K-12 offerings, translating many lessons into Spanish to better serve Midpeninsula communities.
