Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:
As much as current events draw our attention, our first call as believers is always to focus on Him and His Word. As Paul is writing his last letter to Timothy, it speaks to you and me today.
Through His gift of repentance, you and I are moving towards being "Timothys"------- Here is 2 Timothy 3: 11-17 in the Message version:
You’ve been a good apprentice to me, a part of my teaching, my manner of life, direction, faith, steadiness, love, patience, troubles, sufferings—suffering along with me in all the grief I had to put up with in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. And you also well know that God rescued me! Anyone who wants to live all out for Christ is in for a lot of trouble; there’s no getting around it. Unscrupulous con men will continue to exploit the faith. They’re as deceived as the people they lead astray. As long as they are out there, things can only get worse.
But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.
It's time to keep His Message alive as we live it, correcting our mistakes as did Timothy, repenting, showing more and more righteousness, pursuing His holiness in everyday life. Please join me in this prayer: " Heavenly Father, please forgive me for failing to claim fully my place in Your royal priesthood. Please help me get back on Your narrow path to the holiness to which You call me. Thank you for Your gift of repentance and Your forgiveness. Please lift me up as I admit my mistakes and return to You. I love You. Thank You Holy Spirit for training me to live in Your Way through Your loving conviction and Your comfort. Please help me to keep Your Message alive. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen and Amen. "

National Day of Repentance is a Christian ministry founded in 2011 with the sole focus of encouraging God's gift of repentance. While the focus was initially on the USA and days of national repentance, today National Day of Repentance also encourages personal repentance and days of repentance in Africa and Australia, supporting 17 repentance-preaching pastors in ten nations.
