APPRECIATION & OPEN HOUSE


Join us! SEPT. 28 FROM 5:30-7:30PM at the SAPELO SALTWATER FISHING CLUB in Shellman Bluff.


We want to show our APPRECIATION to all of our members and volunteers. AND we'd love for you to join us for the OPEN HOUSE to see what Keep McIntosh Beautiful is all about and ways you could get involved. You can renew your membership, join KMB (new members will get t-shirts), or simply come see the community activities we are involved in. Please help us get the word out! Share the event on Facebook and tell all your friends and neighbors.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Land and shore cleanup! OCT. 21 from 8:30AM- NOON! Partnering with Fort King George State Historic Site. Canoes, Jackets and ALL Supplies Provided! MCINTOSH COMMUNITY Nov. 18

ANNUAL RECYCLING EVENT

Keep McIntosh Beautiful is sponsoring the annual Community Recycling Event on Saturday, November 18, from 9 AM – 1 PM behind the McIntosh Middle School at 500 Greene Street, Darien, GA. 


- We will be COLLECTING:

----Electronics of all kinds

----Flat Screen TVs (no tube TVs)

----Ink cartridges

----Household Goods

----Scrap Metal & Appliances

----CFL Light Bulbs & Fluorescent Tubes (up to 4' ONLY)

----Batteries


All services are FREE! Our partners for this event are Southern Metals Recycling, McIntosh County Schools, Sensible Recycling (see details below of what is accepted and what’s not), and Waste Management. 


Assistance will be available for unloading items and materials from vehicles.  Each participant will also receive an updated McIntosh County Recycling Guide, listing where a wide variety of items and materials can be taken for reuse or recycling in our area. The annual GEORGIA'S COAST IS NOT AN ASHTRAY Cigarette Litter Prevention Effort was a HUGE SUCCESS!

Cigarette Receptacles and/or Coasters, T-Shirts & Stickers were delivered to the Darien-McIntosh County Chamber of Commerce, The Studio, Debo’s Detailing, The Local Exchange, Skipper’s Fish Camp, The Coastal Market, ABC Nutrition, Mudcat Charlie’s at Two Way Marina & Fish Camp, Keys North Market & Grill, Oaks on the River Resort, The Oaks Club and Cedar Bar, Waterfront Wine & Gourmet, Hunter’s Café, Sapelo Hammock Golf Club, Altman’s Restaurant, Speed’s Kitchen, Knotty’s, Blackbeard’s, American Legion Darien, Barracos Bakery, The Fish Dock, Blue Bay Mexican Restaurant, The Lunch Box, Pizza Hut, Darien Telephone Company, The Shanty Cafe, Shellman Fish Camp, B&J’s Steaks and Seafood Restaurant, Cypress Lounge, Hey Cuz, and The Canopy Restaurant.

Keep McIntosh Beautiful is a volunteer-based, self-funded 501(c)3 non-profit affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, but we receive no funds from either organization or financial support from any government entity.


Individual and local business support is VITAL for our operation and to fund KMB activities for Litter Prevention and Control; Recycling, Education; Beautification Projects & Abandoned Buildings Removal Assistance Program, benefitting Darien & McIntosh County.
