Keep On Holding On!!!3/19/23
Acts 10:1-2 (KJV)
1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
CORNELIUS???? Who is he???????
I do not recall EVER hearing any mention-certainly no sermon-on this centurion/soldier/officer named Cornelius.
What I DO want to emphasis is a POSITIVE message today!!!
I want to write a sermon on the FACT that does DOES INDEED ANSWER PRAYER!!!
I awoke yesterday morning (PRAISE THE LORD FOR AWAKENING AGAIN!!!) to a phone call from a fellow Pastor and much loved and RESPECTED man of God.
He gave me a PRAISE REPORT of a member of his Church who had been instrumental in finalizing the FINAL payment on his beautiful Church.
This beautiful Church is only around 20 years old and now debt free!!!
I only mention that fact because of the testimony of this one person who gave and AGAIN God OUT-GAVE the giver!!!
Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
In my own PERSONAL walk with Jesus I have MANY, MANY times experienced the Hand of God MULTIPLYING my tithes and offerings FAR in advance of my gift given and I so enjoy hearing a testimony as to the FAITHFULLNESS and TRUTH of sowing and reaping:
Psalm 126:5-6 (KJV)
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
YOU CANNOT OUTGIVE GOD!
Shortly thereafter that phone call came another TESTimony of the amazing grace of God once again pouring out His blessing!!!
Unashamedly may I add:
Malachi 3:10 (KJV)
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
GOD INDEED STLL ANSWERS PRAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the above mention Story of said Cornelius the Bible records that he “PRAYED TO GOD ALWAY”-

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
Is this not what our Lord and Savior taught:
Luke 18:1 (KJV)
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Now there is no mention of how LONG Cornelius had PRAYED nor of the nature of his PRAYER-only that he prayed ALWAY!!!!!!!
YOU can read the entire Story in Acts Chapter 10 but in essence of time let me record the fact that WAY OVER in Verse 31 do we find what happened:
Acts 10:30-31 (KJV)
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
In actuality this Angel said or had told Cornelius that “THY PRAYER IS HEARD!!!!!”
AMEN! PRAISE THE LORD!! AIN'T THAT REFRESHING NEWS!!!!!!!!
Many, MANY times when WE PRAY the enemy lies to us and tells us our PRAYERS are meaningless and useless-waste of time.
Perhaps YOU, like me have been PRAYING for weeks/months/YEARS with seemingly again little or no result?????
Perhaps as Jesus told us we feel like FAINTING:
Luke 18:1 (KJV)
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
FAINT-from <G1537> (ek) and <G2556> (kakos); to be (bad or) weak, i.e. (by implication) to fail (in heart) :- faint, be weary.

Herein lies the key-DO NOT FAINT-lose courage or hope/GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beloved, MANY a night I go to bed weak and discouraged by the trials of that day.
I go to bed hopeless and defeated only to ARISE the next day to ANOTHER day of life and another chance to PRAY.
The last chapter of each of our lives has not been written yet!!!
The devil may try to turn you around but ya gotta keep on holdin' on!!
KEEP ON HOLDING ON-KEEP ON HOLDING ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
