MESSAGE FROM GACA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Coaches,

Welcome to 2023! I hope all went well over your break and you are up and running for the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 School Year!

The GACA / BSN All Star Football Games were a huge success and included the first ever All Star Flag Football Game. The Flag Football Players were also showcased at Halftime of the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals Football Game on January 1, 2023 at the Mercedez Benz!

The GBCA All Star Basketball is approaching and is set for March 25, 2023!

The GACA All-State Selection Meetings for Football (January 31, 2023) and Basketball (February 19, 2023) are set for all region champions to meet and select the corresponding All State Teams.

Regional Weight Lifting information is being finalized and the Lee Murray State Weight Lifting Championships will be held on March 11, 2023.

The GACA presents awards to Head and Assistant Coaches of State, Region, and Area winners in their sport.

When the Coach and Assistant Coaches are members of the GACA and the coaches win their region, area championship, and/or their state championship, The Head Coach will receive a plaque for free and the Assistant Coaches receive a certificate for free. The school can order plaques for their Assistant Coaches, at a small cost, if they would like to do so.

ATHLETES AND MENTAL HEALTH

Coaches have a lasting impact on the lives of young athletes. Not only do they guide their physical development, but coaches must also serve an athlete’s mental health needs.

POSITIVE ATHLETE LEGACY AWARDS

Our friends and partners at Positive Athlete will be helping us to give away our "Legacy Awards" for the 2nd year as a part of the Positive Athlete program.

These awards will be 3 separate $1,000 scholarships that are given specifically to the high school children of high school coaches. Any student of a high school coach that participates in sports while in grades 9-12 is eligible for these scholarships!
