Garden Transplant Workday
This spring, KDB had the opportunity to donate nearly 75 little bluestem plants from KDB's Denia Wildflower Garden to Denton Clear Creek Heritage Center's prairie area.
Lots of hard work led to many happy bluestem plants in their new home!

Independence Day Cleanup
These ALL-STAR volunteers cleaned up McKinney Street along the Yankee Doodle Parade route at KDB's Independence Day Cleanup on July 5.
The parade left lots of candy, candy wrappers, cigarette butts, and confetti from the 4th festivities, which would have made its way to our nearby parks and waterways. But no fear, these volunteers cleaned it up!
Thank you for your hard work to keep Denton (and America!) beautiful!

Goodbye to Staff and Board Members

Julie Anderson
KDB Program Manager (2018-2019)
After leading KDB since Jan. 2018, we wished Julie goodbye at the end of May. We wish her luck in her new journey in ATX working for the City of Austin! Many Dentonites knew Julie as Denton's "Bike Czar" long before her work in KDB. Fun fact: she's responsible for those beautiful red lil' d music note bike racks!
While at KDB, Julie led the KDB team, programs, fundraising efforts, and KDB, Inc. Board of Directors. She helped guide the organization's new direction for the future and has been a passionate advocate of the KDB. Thank you for your contributions to Denton and best of luck!
In the interim, Autumn Natalie has been serving as KDB Program Manager. Questions can be directed to
[email protected] or 940.349.8711.

Ali Silva
KDB, Inc. Board President (2015-2019)
After serving on the KDB, Inc. Board of Directors since 2015, Ali Silva is leaving KDB for new adventures. A long-time Dentonite, UNT grad, and KDB volunteer, Ali has contributed so much to the KDB cause.
In her two-year term as president, she has helped to shape a new KDB era while cultivating and strengthening community partnerships. Her leadership and bright smile will be missed. We have a feeling we'll see her as a volunteer at her favorite event, the Community Tree Giveaway, this October!
Thank you and we wish you all the best, Ali!
In the interim, KDB, Inc. Vice President Mannix O'Connor will be fulfilling all presidential duties. Send inquiries to
[email protected].

Joshua Bova
KDB, Inc. Board Member At-Large (2019)
Although Josh's time as a board member seems short, Josh has been a long-time KDB supporter! Prior to becoming a board member in Jan. 2019, Josh worked as KDB's Community Forestry Intern in 2016.
His background in geography and geology helped to shape the beginnings of KDB's Denton Tree Initiative, and launched KDB's use of tree tracking software that we still use today!
After many years growing his family in Denton, Josh has accepted an exciting opportunity with a certain famous colonel, which led him to have to move out of state.
We'll miss your fun-loving spirit, Josh! Best of luck and thank you for your service!
