Kinship Center
Kinship Center, formerly the Uptown Shepherd Center, was founded in 1977 by eight uptown churches. Their mission was to dedicate services for underserved seniors with an emphasis on providing transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping. Kinship's 14-passenger van is vital to the continuance of this mission.
There are many ways to volunteer for and donate to Kinship:
- Community/corporate partnerships
- Student service hours
- Raffle items for June 26 "Trivia for Charity" at the Rusty Nail 6-8 p.m.*
- Leaders for craft classes or special projects of the volunteer's choosing, i.e. sharing a talent that you enjoy
- Help with thank-you notes
- Gift Certificates to local shops, restaurants, or grocery stores
For further info or to sign up to volunteer, email kinshipnola@gmail.com.
*Join Kinship for a night of trivia filled with friends, fun, and raffle prizes at the Rusty Nail, 1100 Constance Street! The cost is $10/person for trivia and $5/raffle ticket. Visit givebutter.com/kinshiptrivia for tickets.
