Workforce Planning Hamilton's 2012 Labour Market Plan has just been released!

Are you interested in Hamilton's economic growth?  Every year WPH reviews the progress that has been made on Hamilton's labour market action plan and offers up-to-date information on local labour market conditions.  The plan suggests areas where further attention may be required.

Strengthening Newcomer Services: Connecting the System 


Would you like a better understanding of the services that exist in Hamilton for newcomers, and a chance to find out about new community resources?  You are invited to a drop-in and networking event on Thursday, May 31/12 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.   The event takes place at the Hamilton Convention Centre, 1 Summers Lane, Hamilton.


The day will include:


  • A Report to the Community at 3:30 pm. and again at 5:30 pm. featuring outcomes of the project and future plans
  • Demonstration of the Newcomer Services Website
  • Find out about the Hamilton Newcomer Services Quick Guide
  • Networking and displays

From the archives: Workforce Focus: November 2011, Youth


Youth employed in our region most commonly work in sales and service occupations, representing 53% of all youth employment.  Occupations in business, finance and administration and trades, transport and equipment operations offer good opportunities for youth in Hamilton.
