Finding the right pair of boots, I feel, is more important than a pair of skis.
I have been in the same boots for 11 years. For five years, I have been trying to replace them, but haven't found the right pair. Believe me, I've tried - from demo days at the Birkie to borrowing Doc's personal boots, to walking or roller skiing around Bicycle Doctor for hours.

It conforms to my foot without pressure points or looseness that would cause blisters to develop. The support is incredible. I have full ankle flexion while maintaining lateral stiffness that transfers power perfectly during those push offs.
The boot makes me a better skier. I have better control, balance, and hold my V2 glide longer and with more efficiency. Most importantly, I climbed faster and with less effort then ever before.
The funny thing about these boots is the lack of padding around the ankle and lower leg. I thought for sure I would have problems, but I can happily say that after putting in over 100k with the longest ski being a 45k effort a week ago, that I was completely pain free with no areas of irritation.
