Harbor Happenings
December Edition
Wear Orange While
Walking Your Dog

Please take the same precautions over the next few weeks with your pet as you do for firearm deer season in November. The Department of Natural Resources has changed some hunting regulations because of Chronic Wasting Disease, a fatal neurological disease found in deer, elk, and moose. Steps are being taken to prevent the spread of CWD and that includes reducing the deer population, hence more hunters back in the woods.

If you are in Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Jackson, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Ottawa and Shiawassee counties, the muzzleloader season starting Friday, Dec. 7, is open to all legal firearms.

For more information, check with the DNR.
Keep your pets safe!
With the holidays, please remember that fun foods, holiday plants and decorations can be hazardous for your pets. To see more information check out this link:

If you think your pet has ingested something, the ASPCA offers a poison control center. For information click here.
Happy Holidays!!
