MARCH 8, 2016

It is said that April is the cruelest month, but I think March isn't that far behind. Spring hovers on the horizon promising warmer temps, longer days, and dreams of flowers to come. It's cruel because in the midst of these dreams of thaw we're slammed with storms and are cast back to earth from our flights of too-early fantasy. But this year is different and I suspect all the years to come will be different: Climate change is upon us. For some the above normal temps are welcome but we pay with climactic extremes such as hurricanes and tornadoes in areas where there were few or none in the past and drought that threatens our water supplies and exacerbates fire dangers. My point? Life, climate, and the times, they are a'changin. It's a good time to keep our dreams alive.
