The Calflora Database aggregates wild plant data from thousands of sources. One of these sources is Consortium of California Herbaria (CCH2). They maintain data on plant specimens housed in member institutions; Calflora regularly refreshes data coming from CCH2 so that it is current.
In this photo is Lawrence Janeway, curator at the Herbarium at CSU Chico. CCH curators such as Lawrence make changes to their digitized specimens. Calflora staff regularly update the data so that what you see in Calflora reflects those changes.
Regular data refreshes are an important part of Calflora's nonprofit mission to bring you the most up-to-date and accurate information about wild plant distributions across the state of California.
