Partnership Brings Investment
to Northwest Baltimore
CHAI is excited to announce that the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development awarded over $500,000 through its Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative Program to the Northwest Baltimore Partnership (NWBP) for five capital projects plus operating support for CHAI’s continued management of the partnership. Founded in 2018, NWBP has grown to include numerous partners who are committed to the revitalization of northwest Baltimore. The number of projects funded this year is a testament to the progress NWBP has made in building a vital coalition and developing the trust of the State, the City and neighborhood residents.
Israel Connect is a Win-Win
For the past several years, Myerberg members have been participating in Israel Connect, a virtual mentorship program that pairs older adults with high school students in Israel. Myerberg volunteers meet with students from Baltimore’s sister city of Ashkelon each week via Zoom to improve the student’s English proficiency in preparation for university entrance exams. This popular program, which bridges generational and geographic gaps, provides a meaningful and rewarding experience for both mentors and students. To learn more or become a mentor, contact Melanie Waxman, Myerberg’s Technology Concierge at melanie@myerberg.org.
