Keeping Connected

Rector's Reflection

Dear Ones of Christ Church,

A note that beginning this Sunday afternoon, June 7th, Alex and I will be heading out for a few weeks of vacation, rest and re-creation. I will return on Wednesday, June 24th. It feels like a particular blessing to be able to move into a time of rest as we enter the long green season after Pentecost, also known as Ordinary Time. ...

Saturday, June 20th at 5p - Holy Eucharist

The Poets' Corner

The Poets’ Corner is six 60-minute weekly sessions for people curious about poetry. In each session we discuss an eclectic range of works, three poems by women and men from various cultures and times. At Christ Church we are invited to pay attention to life. Poetry helps us do that, and no question or comment about the selected poems can be wrong. Each session starts after the Sunday 9 AM service. Please bring your name tag and any coffee-hour refreshments to the upstairs conference room. Poems will be provided. Peter Trenouth is your host. The Poets’ Corner starts June 14.

Sunday June 7th worship conversation after 9a service

Thank you to all who gave feedback about the changes in our Sunday 10a worship. We have now had time to live into those changes together, and Rev. Melissa, Deacon Natalie, Deacon James, and Lea are offering a time after the 9a service on Sunday June 7th, during Lemonade on the Lawn, to talk together with anyone who would like to share more.

Reflections of the Altar Guild - Part One

What makes the Altar Guild Ministry so special?

Laurie Wall, parishioner and member of the Altar Guild shares …

~”Serving on our Altar Guild is truly a privilege. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to experience the preparation of a most personal and communal sacrament of our church.” ~

More to follow in the next 2 weeks sharing thoughts about the Altar Guild at Christ Church Parish.

Sharing Our Grief Journey

Meets the 3rd Friday of every month from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Join us Friday, June 19

Meeting in the Hospitality Suite.

Please join us at any time.

Christ Church is offering a series of get togethers designed for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one, whether the death is recent or in the past. Participants will have the opportunity to share where they are on their grief journey, receive mutual support, share ways to cope, and may, through prayer and meditation, find new strength and hope to continue on their healing journey.

Notes from the Vestry meeting of May 30, 2026

Please note that ALL vestry meeting minutes are posted on the bulletin board outside our parish office following their approval at the subsequent vestry meeting.

If you would like to receive an electronic copy of our minutes, they are available by request. Please email David Tyler at office@christchurchplymouth.org.

  • Vestry Members participated in a full-day retreat on May 30, which included our regular monthly business meeting as well as a workshop led by Deacon Natalie during which we worked to deepen our relationships with God and with one another through conversation, scripture study and prayer. We focused on relationships, reconciliation, and what it means to be a church.
  • Rev. Melissa will be taking a vacation beginning the afternoon of 6/7 and will return on 6/24. Worship coverage is in place. Two priests will be celebrating our Saturday evening Eucharist services, and on the two Sundays, we will celebrate Morning Prayer.
  • Vestry approved a motion to move forward with the first phase of our parking space lining and paving project. Work will not begin until the entire scope has been reviewed and approved.
  • Vestry has approved the first $900K deposit we have received as a donation from the Estate of Don Bolt to be temporarily held in a money market account.

**Next Meeting: **

Scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at 6:30 pm.

Christ Church Thrift Shoppe

Christ Church Parish Thrift Shoppe is excited to announce our rehab from the flood is completed. Volunteers are busy stocking the shelves with new merchandise and clothing in anticipation of our Grand Re Opening on May 30th 9-4pm!

We will be celebrating unbelievable sales and much more. Please mark your calendar and join us as we return to do our good work for the community.

Thank you

It is with deep gratitude and full hearts that we share that, after four wonderful years serving as leaders of the Thrift Shoppe ministry, the time has come for us to step away from our leadership roles.

Please help us welcome parishioners and dedicated volunteers Ania Foerste, Judy Davis, and Mary Nagel as the new leaders. They will join Lynne Neeley and Lynn Stanne in leading the Thrift Shoppe ministry as they carry forward the ministry’s faithful work of serving Christ Church and our community.
