Keeping Connected

Rector's Reflection

In my Friday reflections I will share a poem that invites us into these miracle stories, to hear them perhaps differently, in a new way. This weekend we will hear Matthew’s story of Jesus and the disciples feeding 5,000 people with a few loaves and fish. Below is the poem “Logos” by Mary Oliver. ...

Notes from the Vestry meeting of July 15, 2026

Please note that ALL vestry meeting minutes are posted on the bulletin board outside our parish office following their approval at the subsequent vestry meeting.

If you would like to receive an electronic copy of our minutes, they are available by request. Please email David Tyler at office@christchurchplymouth.org.

At its July meeting, the Vestry:

  • Heard a presentation from Bill Ferguson on the history, purpose, and past practices of Christ Church's commemorative service plaques
  • Continued its prayerful discernment regarding how a recent bequest can best support Christ Church's mission and long-term ministry. As part of this process, the Vestry will meet with diocesan stewardship consultant Brian Raiche this fall to learn more about options, including the possibility of a future capital campaign.
  • Received an update from the Capital Committee as it continues evaluating the church's long-term building maintenance needs and gathering information to help guide future planning.
  • Approved the following Thrift Shop donations to support summer camp opportunities for children:
  • $2,100 to Barbara C. Harris Camp
  • $2,100 to Camp Amazing Grace
  • Approved obtaining bids to install air conditioning on the second floor of the Parish Hall to improve the space for church programs, meetings, and community use.
