TLS Partners with School System to Supply Masks for our Community
We hope this email finds you and yours healthy and safe during these unusual times. TLS remains strong and has been active focusing on the health and safety of our employees and our community.
TLS by Design, in line with Indiana's Stay in Place Order, informed employees on March 22nd that we would continue their employment and benefits, while we also looked to use available government programs designed to help businesses such as ours.
In the meantime we received a call from a medical device company needing face masks for their employees working double shifts to keep up with hospital demand for their product. They asked for 1,000 masks to protect their people. As we moved to develop a 3-ply mask capable of being washed more than 10 times, we received inquiries for more than 20,000 masks.
Knowing the urgent need, we partnered with the local school system to recruit sewing volunteers to increase capacity. TLS is providing the cut materials and the volunteers are completing the masks. The school system, already using school buses to distribute lunches to out of school children, is distributing kits and pick-up finished masks. These masks are being used for countywide first responders, school food service workers as well as healthcare and long term care facilities and for the community at large.
Together we can all make a difference.
